Area Information
Spa Buena Vista is located in the heart of the East Cape on the Sea of Cortez, approximately two miles south of Los Barriles, a small beachfront town which offers all essential services. Los Barriles has a nice variety of restaurants from casual to fine dining, well-stocked grocery stores, banks, high quality medical care, pharmacies and other services.
Spa Buena Vista is about an hour north of Cabo San Lucas, with all of its excellent restaurants, shopping, nightlife, world class golf courses, and other amenities to be expected of a large Mexican beach resort city.
Somewhat further afield is the charming artist community of Todos Santos, located on the Pacific Ocean less than an hour and a half to the northwest. Buena Vista is about the same distance south of La Paz, the capital of Baja California Sur. With 250,000 residents, La Paz is a commercial hub, sporting one of the best malecons (waterfront promenades) in all of Mexico.
The sun shines 360 days a year in South Baja, making Buena Vista an outdoor recreational paradise for water and other activities. Long known as a haven for some of the best sportsfishing in the world, there are plenty of other things to do. Surrounded on all sides by mountains and beaches, there are hundreds of miles of trails for off road enthusiasts to explore. The water in Buena Vista never dips below 80 degrees, making it ideal for swimming, boating, windsurfing, windsailing and jet skiing. For snorkelers, the nearby reef at Punta Pescadero is at the north end of the beach. And Cabo Pulmo, a national marine reserve 30 miles south of Buena Vista, is a snorkeler’s paradise.
